Everyone I know has either been to Thailand or is planning to go. My neighbour went twice in one year. So I finally looked into it. thailand tour packages from lahore are not as complicated as they sound, and honestly, the price surprised me.

First thing — the flight. About five to six hours from Lahore. You leave at night, you land in the morning. No long layovers if you pick the right package.

Bangkok is where most people start. Big, loud, busy city. Traffic is bad, worse than Lahore honestly. But the food makes up for it. Street food is everywhere. You can eat for very little money and it tastes amazing.

Most packages include Bangkok and then either Pattaya or Phuket. Pattaya is close to Bangkok, maybe two hours by road. It's a beach town. Phuket is further south, you have to take a domestic flight, but the beaches there are something else.

The temples are a big part of the trip. Wat Arun, the Grand Palace, the reclining Buddha. You'll see photos of these everywhere. Seeing them in person is different.

What nobody tells you — it's hot. Very hot. Even in December it's warm. Carry light clothes and drink water all day. You'll walk a lot too, so bring comfortable shoes.

Visa wise, Thailand is easy for Pakistani passport holders. There's visa on arrival for a certain number of days, but rules keep changing, so check with whoever you're booking through. Don't trust old blog posts about this.

Money — the Thai baht. Cards work in malls and hotels, but street food and markets need cash. Keep some on you.

Best time to go? November to February. That's their cool season. March to May is brutally hot. June to October is rainy season, though rain there usually comes in short bursts, not all day.

Now, is it worth it? Depends what you want. If you want a quiet, calm holiday, Thailand might feel too busy. But if you want good food, nice beaches, and something new every day, it's hard to beat for the price.

One tip from my neighbour — don't try to see everything in five days. Pick two places, do them properly. He made the mistake of running around and came back tired instead of relaxed.
